   摘要
   在工业高速发展的东南亚国家，由于工业和机动车尾气排放导致的室外空气污染越来越严重，哮喘和过敏性疾病的发生率也不断提高，已达到西方国家水平。流行病和实验暴露研究表明：机动车和工厂造成的室外空气污染对过敏性疾病和哮喘的发生产生不利影响，并能增加哮喘症状和促进哮喘急性发作。亚洲国家的室外空气污染水平比西方国家的更严重且更多样化。这可能加剧室外空气污染对亚洲人群健康的影响，特别是对肺健康的影响。
   这篇综述讨论了亚洲空气污染的组成成分，尤其关注了中国大陆和台湾地区。这两个地区空气污染严重，特别是在冬季如此严重的空气污染会导致严重的雾霾从而降低可见度。监管机构和公共卫生部门的职责仍然在于控制污染源，从而缓解空气污染对人群特别是患有肺和心血管疾病及高敏感性人群的不利影响。

Link between environmental air pollution and allergic asthma: East meets West.

ABSTRACT
With the levels of outdoor air pollution from industrial and motor vehicle emissions rising rapidly in the fastly-industrializing countries of South East Asia, the prevalence of asthma and allergic diseases has also been increasing to match those in the West. Epidemiological and experimental exposure studies indicate a harmful impact of outdoor air pollution from vehicles and factories both on the development of allergic diseases and asthma and the increase inasthma symptoms and exacerbations. The level of outdoor pollution in Asia is much higher and more diverse than those encountered in Western countries. This may increase the impact of outdoor pollution on health, particularly lung health in Asia. This review discusses the constituents of air pollution in Asia with a special focus on studies in mainland China and Taiwan where the levels of pollution have reached high levels and where such high levels particularly in winter can cause a thick haze that reduces visibility. The onus remains on regulatory and public health authorities to curb the sources of pollution so that the health effects on the population particularly those with lung and cardiovascular diseases and with increased susceptibility can be mitigated.
